B.C.’S AI TALENT SHOWCASE

B.C.’S AI TALENT SHOWCASE

November 7, 2019

Original event here

I'd like to bring your attention to an opportunity for your students to showcase their research and network with industry. The Artificial Intelligence Network of British Columbia, the School of Computing Science at SFU and CrossOver AI are organizing a "BC AI Student Showcase".

The event will be held on Sunday, December 8th, from 4pm - 7pm at the Fairmont Waterfront (900 Canada Place).

The BC AI Student Showcase will feature students presenting posters about their artificial intelligence work, either a course project or research. Guests from industry, universities, government, and non-profits will be invited, providing an excellent venue for collaboration, networking, and hiring opportunities.

This event builds on a successful SFU event in December 2018, which featured ~500 graduate and undergraduate students in machine learning and natural language processing courses presenting their work in downtown Vancouver to 85 guests from 50 different organizations. This year we are scaling up this event, inviting students from across British Columbia to present their AI work, and meet each other and guests.

If you are a student and would like to present at this year's event, please register as a presenter. We request that you include your contact information, poster title, names/contact for other students in your team (group projects welcome), and your affiliation. The event is open to undergraduate and graduate students from British Columbia universities. Space is limited, so we encourage you to register early and will be in contact regarding acceptance and details before the event.

Please pass on this message to any of your undergrad or grad students who might be interested.
